Group and Sales Commissions in SAP Business One

Tracking commission by sales in SAP Business One is very simple and easy to set up! If you have a sales team that is stable in terms of sales, you certainly know how important it is to set up Commission Groups and Sales Employees correctly. SAP Business One makes this easy to do, of course in tracking commissions and creating reports. We have two areas set up against Commission Groups and Sales Employees, so let's get started.

Setting up Commission Groups

To set up a Commission Group you can go to Administration -> Setup -> General -> Commission Groups on the main menu.

Commission Groups is where you define your commission groups or structure. These groups can be associated with a particular salesperson or several salespeople. You can customize the arrangement of these commission groups and create groups for each sale. If you have several sales with different commission percentage levels, such as "High", "Medium" or "Low" commission groups, you can also set them in SAP Business One.

To set it up, you just have to type the name for your commission group in the left column and provide the commission percentage in the right column. Simple isn't it!

Sales Employees and Reports

Now we need to assign Commission Groups to certain sales names. This setting is in the Administration menu -> Setup -> General -> Sales Employee / Buyers. Here you can select the specified sales name on the left and Commission Groups in the right column. When this setting has been successfully carried out, every time sales makes a sale or a transaction occurs and produces a marketing document, a commission report will automatically be generated.

This commission is created when an A/R Invoice is issued, then you can go to Sales Reports to view the commission report. Select Main Menu -> Sales A/R -> Sales Reports -> SP Commission by Invoices in Posting Date Report. Select the sales and date range you can export to apply for commission. You can even create your own commission reports in Crystal Reports using the data to customize them for your business.
