MANAGING E COMMERCE PRODUCT INVENTORY THROUGH SAP

Item management is such a vast subject that it's hard to cover everything, but we've done our best to cover everything you might need to know about how to manage eCommerce product inventory through SAP Business One and the Best Practices associated with it.

The e-commerce function in SAP Business One offers unique variants and product line configurations to allow customers greater freedom when selecting products. Variants give your customers the ability to pick and choose what items to bundle into the final product. You can associate items with each other in a parent-child hierarchy, creating links that further simplify your customers' purchasing experience. When customers change the package configuration, the price difference is reflected automatically. You can use "default items" for variants to present the initial (or suggested) configuration of the package. Product lines allow customers to select specific types of items based on attributes you specify. For example, if your company sells t-shirts, you can use the product line function to let customers make choices based on color and size.

If your business sells downloadable content over the Internet, you can use SAP Business One's e-commerce function to store and manage the files themselves. Meanwhile, the file information is stored in the item profile and synchronized to SAP Business One.

As you can see, integrating an eCommerce application with an ERP application (such as SAP Business One) can reduce a lot of confusion and duplicate work while allowing you to get higher sales with almost instant inventory level updates.
